Crocodile Scars
Among the Kaningara people of Papua New Guinea, a young man cannot achieve the full status of manhood until his body bears the incised scars of the mark of the crocodile. Respect and fascination with this crocodile-like scarring obsessed and inspired Harrison Wong for his Pre-Fall Collection 2015. The crocodile skin pattern is the key influence here along with Wong’s own signature minimal constructed cut, line and shape. A creative multi-layering of outfits yields unexpected and exciting combinations. The sportswear element, leather, metallic print and the 3D surface fabric merge to become an integral part of the design that celebrates the primal yet, at the same time, imparts an elegant, casual chic.
