SPRING SUMMER 2016 (1)

Inspiration

For inspiration for his Spring-Summer 2016 menswear collection, Harrison Wong has turned to the mid 20th Century American conceptual artist, Sol DeWitt. Wong integrates into his designs DeWitt’s visual vocabulary of towers, pyramids, bright colours, simplified geometric shapes and progressions all which hint at some underlying mathematical equation. This rigour fits well into Harrison Wong’s minimalist, edgy tradition. This time Wong infuses these designs into retro silhouettes with a futuristic bent: big drop shoulders; cropped jackets with high-waist pants; as well as formal designs appearing in unexpected sporty water repellent and mesh materials.
